ANTON SOLOMUKHA / LITTLE RED RIDING HUT IN THE LOUVRE: or the newest project of the "dirty classic" Anton Solomukha

18th of December, Thursday, 19.00 - the gallery "Collection" opens a new personal project "Little red riding hut in Louvre" of the Kyiv classic with "French" registration, famous artist Anton Solomukha.
The uniqueness of this project is that Solomukha was able to create a new genre - picture, painted not with brush but with photo camera. The main heroine of the series, Little Red Riding Hut - is a na?ve, simple, uneducated but very curious country girl, that travels in the corridors of world culture. Like every other child, she pictures herself on the place of the heroines or heroes of the masterpieces of Poussin, Ingres, Picasso, Velasquez, Caravaggio and other titans of the art. At the same time the author's imagination realizes it's great choreographic rebuses.

Anton Solomukha, the author of the project: "I was always very interested in this very popular folk myth about the Little Red Riding Hut, that exists in every country of the world and hat a lot of interpretations and meanings. It was very important for me to find a personage through whose eyes I could change the masterpieces of world art. But my project isn't in any way make-up for old pictures or their copy. Three important moments are combined there for me: it's a girl that becomes a woman, it's an old picture from the museum and a modern history, that is interesting for me to tell". Stefan Levi-Quenz, art critic, Paris: "The history of art and the subculture of underground are combining there, these allegories create a chaotic picture of our old neurotic humanity: set design of fun, the geometry of orgy, ballistics of voyeurism, the architecture of panic escape to nowhere. It is subconsciously said to these baroque bodies that froze waiting for the narcissistic ideal: to see the wolf, or to be seen by the wolf, to eat the wolf, or to be his victim. And of course, to take light from these ghosts. Bosch and Grosh arrived and Caravaggio is doing make-up ".

Anton Solomukha, the graduate of Kyiv Art Academy and the pupil of Tetyana Yablonska, "golden youth" of Pechersk's Lipki and the artist, without whom it is impossible to imagine the history of modern Ukrainian art, left Kyiv 1979 for a successful art career in Paris. Unlike the majority of other painters in the first year of his living in Paris Anton Solomukha had exhibitions in the best galleries of Paris, other European countries and the USA. Anton is successfully working with photography only for a couple of years, inviting the whole French beau monde to be his personages, at the same time telling that he "is cheating to his art wife with his lover-photography".

Because of the sexual note of his photo-compositions Anton Solomukha is often called "a dirty classic". Solomukha confesses: "I'm not the one to tell about erotic. My photo-works are math calculation and the coldness of marble." Except photo pictures his new art works will be presented in this exposition, for the first time in Kyiv. Also this exposition contains a couple of objects that were created for the opening specially. This year the series "Little Red Riding Hut was presented by one of the best Paris galleries "208" on the authoritative festival of erotic photography that takes part in Arles, France. The ceremonial opening will take place at 19.00 in the gallery "Gallery" at the address: vyl. Pankivska, 8. The exhibition will last until the 17th of January. The gallery is opened every day, except Monday, from 11.00 till 19.00.
