ANDRIY BLUDOV / DELI-PARIS New art love story

Kyiv, the 13th of February 2008, 18.00 - before St. Valentine's Day the gallery "Collection" invites to the press-review and official opening of the new exhibition of the well-known Kyiv exhibition Andriy Bludov "Delhi-Paris".

In the new works of Bludov a refined friend of maharaja meets a cheap model of underground photo-atelier, and the East competes with the West in the demonstration of the vital power. The author used pieces of old porn-photos of the beginning of the previous century, engraving of an old Kama sutra and even modern textbooks of anatomy, added graphic elements from the own trips around the world. All these things created a basis of the vivid expressive painting, characteristic of the brush of Andriy Bludov.

Using the first sources and being inspired by his own condition of "being-in-love", Andriy Bludov stayed true to himself, to art, color, beauty of the moment. And how wonderfully time adds its commentaries! Who could think, that these smiling girls from the photos were the heroines of the tabooed a century ago pornographic production. Like the engravings of Kama sutra that in the past were shown to the courageous audience in the fear of arrest!

The critic Sergiy Wasiliev considers the new art of Bludov to be a trip through the artifacts of different ?poques and the history of human desires and joys: "This trip fascinates, because it goes in many directions. Such type of art map, that Andriy Bludov shows on greenish, ultra-marine, golden-orange, lemon-yellow, purple routes, should have a scientific name "palimpsest". One ?poque here is painted upon the other, immortal seashells are near the exotic plants and tropic fruits, that are doomed to die in one moment after poisoning us with its dizzy sweetness".

Andriy Bludov is the author of the series "Rosarium" (1998), "Textualii" (1999), "Garden" (2004), "Voices" (2007). His works belong to the private collections of the President Victor Yushchenko, politician Anatoliy Kinakh, writer Andriy Kurkov, businessman Wolodymyr Granovski and many other. Since 2006 Andriy Bludov cooperates with the gallery "Collection" that is the official representative of the interests of the artist.

The exhibition will last to the 20th of March. There is a catalogue published to the opening of the project.
The gallery "Collection" is opened every day, except Monday, from 10.00 to 19.00.
The press-conference will begin at 17.30 and the representatives of the press will be the first who will see the exhibition. The official opening will take place at 18.00, on the 13th of February, in the gallery "Collection".
